Myong and I started in the business of manufacturing inflatable boats through our own interests as well as other business associated ventures. We lived in Alaska for 13 years and during this period of time we were very active in outdoor activities ourselves and with our two sons who were both involved in Boy Scouts. With the vast amount of rivers, lakes and ocean shore-line that Alaska has, we were certainly attracted to the water. There is a tranquility associated with being out on a boat, sometimes for several days, and being able to share in the beauty that God gave us in our natural surroundings. Myong was a buyer for a major sporting goods store in Alaska and used her expertise and associations with manufacturing companies in Korea ,China and Taiwan to make the sporting goods store more competitive with the large sporting goods chains through the purchase of high quality sporting goods equipment at reasonable prices. As a consequence of our interest in outdoor water activities and Myong's business associations, we decided to take our interest in the manufacturing of inflatable boats and begin offering factory-direct purchasing ability on a wider scale. We had researched the inflatable boat business at the same time that we were developing our interest in white-water rafting. We found few boats that we considered acceptable in terms of quality and price so we began to search out better products. NautiLast inflatables combine the best designs of experienced rafters and boaters. High quality materials are used in the construction of NautiLast inflatables and attention to the quality of construction is a high priority.
